Investors richer by over Rs 4.16 lakh cr in two days of market rally

Investors’ wealth rose by Rs 4,16,413.43 crore in two days, with the market capitalisation of BSE-listed companies reaching a lifetime high of Rs 266.36 lakh crore on Friday.

The 30-share BSE benchmark Sensex on Friday jumped 381.23 points or 0.64 per cent to close at 60,059.06. On Thursday, it had rallied 488.1 points to 59,677.83.
Following the uptrend in equities, the market capitalisation of BSE-listed firms climbed Rs 4,16,413.43 crore in two days to reach Rs 2,66,36,960.48 crore.

The Sensex soared past the 60,000-level on Friday after the Reserve Bank kept the key interest rates unchanged but maintained its accommodative stance to bolster economic recovery.

“Domestic indices traded higher with optimism underpinned by dovish RBI policy and mixed global cues due to US jobs data awaited later in the day,” said Vinod Nair, Head of Research at Geojit Financial Services.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) expectedly kept interest rates unchanged at a record low but signalled the start of tapering pandemic-era stimulus measures on economic recovery taking root.

Reliance Industries was the biggest gainer in the 30-share Sensex pack, rallying 3.84 per cent, followed by Infosys, Tech Mahindra, HCL Tech, TCS and Tata Steel.
In contrast, HUL, NTPC, Dr Reddy’s, Kotak Bank and Maruti Suzuki were among the laggards.

In the broader market, the BSE midcap and smallcap indices climbed up to 0.83 per cent.

This week, the Sensex rallied 1,293.48 points or 2.20 per cent.

Aditya Birla Capital Sun Life IPO: Check share allotment status, grey market premium; stock listing on Oct 11

Aditya Birla Capital Sun Life AMC’s Rs 2,768.26-crore IPO, which was subscribed 5.25 times, will finalise the share allotment on Wednesday, 6 October 2021. The shares were seen trading weak in the primary market on Monday. In the grey market, Aditya Birla Capital Sun Life AMC shares were trading at Rs 2 discount over the IPO price of Rs 712 per share, according to the people who deal in unlisted shares of the companies. The initiation of refunds or unblocking of funds from ASBA accounts will take place on 7 October 2021. While the equity shares will be credited to depository accounts on 8 October 2021.

The equity shares are scheduled to make their stock market debut on 11 October 2021. The IPO investors can check the IPO allotment status via BSE and the registrar’s websites. The registrar to the issue is KFin Technologies Pvt Ltd, a SEBI-registered entity, responsible for the IPO allotment and refund processing. Analysts say that as expected, Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC got moderate response owing to the issue being priced on the higher side leaving little room for short term subscribers. “The listing may not be fanciful and the IPO should list somewhere around the issue price. Although, the prospect of the industry looks very promising considering the increasing financial literacy in India. However, there are different options available in the sector too,” Abhay Doshi, Founder, UnlistedArena.com, dealing in Pre-IPO & Unlisted Shares, told Financial Express Online.

Investors can check the allotment status on KFin Technologies website under the IPO Status section (https://ris.kfintech.com/ipostatus/) when it gets declared. CoinDCX launches sign language learning module on crypto currency

On the occasion of International Sign Language Day, cryptocurrency exchange CoinDCX on Thursday launched a specially designed learning module on blockchain and crypto currency for the hearing-impaired community.

The module, which is in sign language and free for all, is available at the company’s education learning portal – DCX Learn, a release said. To create this course, DCX Learn has collaborated with Yunikee.com, a startup that helps organizations and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) build products and services for the hearing-impaired community in Indian sign language.

Users can visit the DCX Learn YouTube channel to access the pilot video of the course. A certificate is also provided post completion of the course.

CoinDCX aims at introducing similar courses in many other languages including Indian regional languages to ensure the knowledge around crypto is accessible to everyone, the release said.

Under its #TryCrypto mission, the company has allocated USD 1.3 million and aims to introduce 5 crore Indian users to the crypto ecosystem.
